Child Marriage Monitoring & Research Intern

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Work with Girls Scholarship Program Manager (supervisor) on international program database and annual reports on child marriage and girls’ access to education.

• Research, read and summarize weekly news articles on child marriage globally and specifically in Tanzania and Maasai communities.

• Attend Girls Not Brides webinars (as scheduled), take detailed notes and discuss main trends with supervisor.

• Review and contribute to Lalafofofo’s publications on child marriage.

• Attend weekly monthly meetings with other Lalafofofo interns and employees and provide updates on research, as requested.

Requirements

• Current college student.

• Committed to ensuring human rights for all girls and women.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills required (in English).

• Previous experience as a research assistant or independent researcher preferred, but not required.

Terms of Engagement

• Time of position is for the Summer 2021 (June 1st - August 13th, 2021)

• 10 hours / week; timing flexible, work remotely.

• This Agreement or any Statement of Work may be extended as mutually agreed, or terminated by either party without cause after providing the other party thirty (30) days’ prior written notice.
